Mangalore: ‘Edify-2011’ at Besant Institute of PG Studies From Mar 23

Mangalore, Mar 22: Manel Srinivas Nayak Memorial (MSNM) Besant Institute of PG Studies, Bondel, will be organizing state-level student youth conference ‘Edify–2011’ on Wednesday March 23 and Thursday March 24.

The event will be held on the institute’s premises with the theme ‘Progressive Bharath’. Dr B S N Prasad, commissioner of income tax, Mangalore, will inaugurate the programme at 9.30 am on Wednesday. Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy will preside over the function.

Renowned speakers like Jayaprakash Hegde, former Karnataka government minister, Addoor Krishna Rao, environmentalist and consumer activist, Dr Jacinta D’Souza, principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Swami Jitakamanandaji, Adhyaksha of RamakrishnaMath, Mangalore, Dr Kishore, deputy director, department of physical education and research, Mangalore University, and Vasanth, national athletics coach, will deliver expert lectures during the course of the two-day conference.

Management games and competitions have also been arranged on each of the sub themes of Edify.  More than 200 students from various undergraduate and postgraduate courses are expected to participate.  The valedictory function will be on Thursday at 4.30 pm. and will be addressed by Balakrishna H, assistant general manager, KIOCL, Mangalore. Manel Annappa Nayak will preside.
