Bantwal, Mar 22: On Monday March 21, the personnel of rural police station here arrested two more accused, in connection with the murder of Badruddin near Brahmarakootlu on March 16. The arrested people have been identified as Mithun (21), and Raviraj (26), residents of Kalladka.

With this, the total number of people arrested in connection with the said murder has risen to six.

It may be recalled that Badruddin, who had come here to take part in Kanapady festival near Brahmarakootlu, had been killed by unidentified assailants at night. His body was found thrown by the roadside near Ramalkatte. The policemen, who picked up strands of clues, found that the murder was connected to a love affair. They had arrested Ganesh, Kishan, Jeeevan, and Pravin, thereafter.

Mithun is said to have stabbed Badruddin with a broken beer bottle, while Raviraj helped this act by pressing and holding the hands and legs of the victim tightly. Rural police station house officer, Mohammed Rafique, said that the policemen have information about the involvement of four more persons in this murder. He expressed confidence that the other accused will also be arrested soon. He revealed that steps are being taken to take into custody a vehicle used for the murder.
