Mangaluru, Jul 3: "A person should have a goal and one can reach it with hard work and efforts," said Zilla Panchayath CEO Dr Kumar, IAS.
He was speaking after inaugurating UPSC/IAS orientation for beginners organized by the Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Pratisthan at World Konkani Centre, Shakthinagar on Sunday, July 3.
"An individual should have concern for society. In life, an individual has two paths, good and bad but one should choose only the good," he added.
"To realise the dream to be a civil service officer, one should work hard. Setting a goal, and making efforts to realize the dream is important and positive thoughts to reach the goal will yield good results in your career," he added.
Stating that the aspirants of civil service give up their emotions and unwanted desires while preparing for the examinations, he said "Seize all your emotional feelings."
He also lauded the Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Pratishthan for organising such a programme which will help the youth in their career.
"Students should have faith. Believe in yourself. Read success stories of great personalities. Moreover, time management is very important while preparing for the examinations. A healthy body and mind will help to achieve success," he added.
He also said that there is no alternative to success. It can be achieved only through hard work, he added.
Professor Narendra L Nayak also spoke on the occasion and said, "Self-pity is the biggest enemy of an individual. One should overcome it."
