Kaup, Jul 1: The century old Urdu school here had an electrical short circuit due to water seeping into the old building.
The students rushed out of the classrooms and sat outside. The autorickshaw drivers of Mallaru-Pakeeranakatte, who got the information, rushed to the school and took all children back to their homes free of cost.
The walls of the classrooms in Maulana Azad School have cracked and the tiles of some of the rooms have also flown off due to the recent rains and heavy winds. Hence water seeped into the classrooms causing an electrical short circuit.

Member of town municipality Nooruddin, former president of Mallaru Gram Panchayat Sadiq Mohammed and social worker Rasheed removed the water inside classrooms.
Village accountant Mathai visited the spot and inspected the building.
