Mangaluru: Workshop on ‘Interview Skills, Presentation Skills and Working in Teams’ held at St Agnes

Mangaluru, Jun 22: The Department of Commerce, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a workshop on ‘Interview Skills, presentation Skills and Working in Teams’ for the final year B.Com students on 22 June 2022.

The keynote speaker for the day was Shavina Soans, a freelance soft skills trainer, and consultant. Ms Soans has worked as a trainer for iPoint, is a consultant at Lykora, Mangaluru and a faculty member for Soft Skills at ICAI, Mangaluru.

The workshop commenced with a prayer song by Ashel D’Souza and group followed by a welcome speech and the introduction of the speaker by Ritusha Harish. Soans began the session with activity and introduced the topic of ‘Presentation Skills’ to the students. This topic was elaborated in-depth as it is essential in the corporate world. Tips to make a good presentation, the Do’s and Don’ts of presentation and
the common mistakes while presenting were also discussed.

As the session carried on, Soans gave the students an insight into the essential interview skills required to succeed at a job. In a fun-filled manner, she also touched on the different dynamics that exist within teams and when working in teams.

The workshop was filled with educative and entertaining activities. Ms Shavina Soans effectively drove home all the points that are a equirement when working in the corporate sector. The students enjoyed the session thoroughly.

Elvira Monteiro and Lawren Castelino were the staff coordinators. Ritusha Harish, vice president of Commerce compered the workshop. For the workshop, special notepads were prepared by the students of the Commerce stream as a part of their community extension activity. The Vote of Thanks was presented by Anusha Zita D’Cunha. The workshop concluded with the College Anthem.
