Mangalore: Committees Formed to Thwart PU Exam Malpractices

Mangalore, Mar 15: For the smooth conduct of the second PU examinations being held from March 17 to March 30, 2011, district and taluk level committees have been formed in Dakshina Kannada district with the objective of  ensuring that the examination malpractices are not allowed to occur,  towards conserving the sanctity of the examinations.

The district level committee is headed by the Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner. Police commissioner, deputy director of women and child welfare department, chief secretary of the zilla panchayat, deputy director of fisheries department, and deputy director of PU education, are the members of this committee.

The other district level team is headed by the zilla panchayat chief executive officer. Superintendent of police, deputy director of agriculture department, district social welfare department, and the deputy director of public instruction, are the members of this committee.

For the taluk level committee covering Mangalore, Moodbidri and Bantwal, which will have five officials as members, assistant commissioner of Mangalore will be the head. The other committee covering Puttur, Sullia and Beltangady taluks, will have five members, headed by the Puttur assistant commissioner.

The heads of these committees have to submit day-to-day reports relating to the examinations. All the vigilance squads have to affectively function on all the examination days, to ensure that irregularities are not allowed to creep in during the examinations, the district deputy commissioner has instructed.
