Mangalore: ‘Sri Vidyadhiraja Award’ for Dr Ramdas Pai Manipal

Mangalore, Mar 15: Chancellor of Manipal University, Dr Ramdas Pai, has been chosen for the prestigious ‘Sri Vidyadhiraja Award’, being annually conferred by Sri Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Mutt, for the year 2011.

The choice of Dr Pai was announced by Srinivas V Shenvi Dempo, president of the Mutt Committee. The committee had finalized the name of Dr Ramdas Pai for the said award, and Sri Vidyadhirajateertha Swamiji, head of the Mutt, has given his approval for the same, a release said.

The Swamiji will confer the award on Dr Ramdas Pai at a special function being organized at Sri Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Mutt on April 5. The award comprises a citation, shawl, memento, and Rs 25,000 by way of cash component.
