Mangalore: City Corporation – Unanimous Election for Standing Committees

Mangalore, Mar 12: In the election held to the four standing committees of the city corporation on Friday March 11, all the 28 members were elected unanimously.

For each of these committees, BJP had fielded five members, while the opposition Congress nominated two members. As the total of nomination papers received tallied with the number of vacant seats, they were declared elected unopposed.

City mayor, Pravin, conducted the election. Deputy mayor, Geeta N Nayak and commissioner, Dr Vijayaprakash, were present.
