Mangalore, Mar 11: Sri Esha Vittaladasa Swamiji of Kemar Sadhanashram advised the members of displaced families, who have undergone training provided for the purpose of the special economic zone, but are yet to get jobs, to continue to strive to achieve their goal of getting jobs with renewed resolve and sincerity.
He was addressing the protesters, who have been on dharna since the last ten days in front of the office of the district deputy commissioner here, on Thursday March 10. The protesters are on indefinite dharna, seeking fulfilment of their demands including jobs.
“Although I am with you in your fight, the present political situation is so volatile that our advice may not go well with anyone. A number of agitations like this one, which were undertaken in the past, have not succeeded. In some cases, I was not consulted or informed by the concerned, even for courtesy sake, while arriving at a mutual agreement or amicable settlement, although initially my support was sought. Therefore, you should take care to see that some political outfits do not get political mileage out of your fight,” he warned.
He said a number of people in the district had sacrificed their lands for various projects, by believing what was told to them, but repented the decision later. While asking people not to sell their lands for petty gains, he urged the Chief Minister to sanction allowance to unemployed people of the state. Hindu Jagran Vedike leader, Satyajit Suratkal, was present.
On Thursday, Campus Front of India, represented by its district president, Hyder Habib, vice-president, Tauseef, and about 50 others, lent support to the protest, by participating in the dharna. All India Congress Committee member, P V Mohan, Keshav Devadiga, and others too pledged support to the agitation.
