Bengaluru, Jun 12: The corona cases have increased three folds in the state in the past 10 days. In addition, the cases have crossed 500 for the first time after three and a half months in the capital city.
On Saturday, June 11, the infection was detected in 562 people. In all, 352 people have recovered. No death has been reported so far. At present, 3387 patients are getting treated in hospitals and at homes. In all, 27,000 tests have been conducted and a positivity rate of 2.07% has been recorded. Compared to Friday, the infections have increased by 5000 cases. So new cases have shot up by 37.
On June 1, new corona infection cases were just 178. However, on June 11 they have touched 562. Around 97% of the cases are detected in Bengaluru alone. Mysuru reported four, DK three, Chitradurga two and once case each in Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Hassan, Tumkur, Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts. No new cases were reported in 29 districts.
On February 25, 2022, 628 cases of corona were reported. Now, after a gap of 106 days very high number of infections have been recorded. However, no death is reported in the past six days. In total, so far in Karnataka, 39.5 lac people are infected with coronavirus. Out of this 39.1 lac people have been cured while 40, 066 lost their lives.
Coronavirus tests were done on 17000 people in the beginning of the week. On Thursday, they increased to 22,000 and on Saturday, 27, 000 people were tested. The increase in number of tests is following the instructions by the union government.
