Mangalore: Kadri Navneeth Shetty’s Work Chosen for Award

Mangalore, Mar 7: ‘Ahalye’, a Tulu play authoured by Kadri Navneeth Shetty has been chosen for the top slot in the annual Ratnavarma Heggade Awards being given through Tulukoota Kudla. This play gets the award for the year 2010. Ratnavarma Heggade awards are given for unpublished Tulu plays, and the awards are sponsored by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade.

‘Bonte’, written by Haleangady Shakuntala Bhat, has won the second prize, while ‘Biledanti Moke’ authored by Sneha Shetty from Kunjatbail Devinagara, has been picked for the third slot. These awards carry cash components of Rs 5,000, 3,000, and 2,000 respectively for the first, second, and third-placed works.

In a release, vice-president of Tulukoota, Ranakumar M, said that these awards will be handed over at ‘Bisu Parba’ proposed to be held during April this year.
