Mangalore with rapid development is slowly becoming a hub for prostitution, drugs, and extortion.

These businesses cannot thrive without demand and support from the law enforcers. As Prashanth says there would be 1000 other places out there. The shocking thing is college students and others from the so called respectable group are also getting involved for pleasure and quick money!

Legalising the Ancient Trade(Vice) is the only answer it seems, as long as it's under-cover & forced criminal act-these acts will continue to haunt the society.

@savitha Prostitution has been going on since B.C, so lets not talk about what the world is coming at.. I don't see any harm as far, if the women are not forced into it.

Hi Savitha, Liberation of women can come from women. Begin by protesting against using girls and women in TV commercials. Neither do films have market if there are no sexual scenes. However, worth remembering that prostitution is one of the oldest professions.

I am disgusted and shocked at how heartless and inhumane our society has become! Is this a way of earning income? Talking from a man's point of view, are men that desperate that they have to be serviced by Prostitutes? What's wrong in getting yourself a wife? Why do we men think that we have to have the best of both worlds? On one hand we want to fight AIDS but on the other hand we want to encourage Promiscuity! Men who think they can't live without sex, spare a thought for the people who died of AIDS! Did they think it was a good idea dying of Aids? If anybody is serious enough about the dignity of every human being, please! Please! don't treat women or men for that matter as sexual objects to satisfy your sexual uncontrollable urges! We need good people to rebuild the Country, not people to satisfy their sexual whims and fantasies. Government has to take proper measures to punish the victims once a mistake its a life time mistake
