Mangalore, Mar 2: Trilok (26), a first year M Tech student of National Institute of Technology Karnataka in Suratkal, committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan of his second floor room in PG hostel block in the college campus. The incident came to light on Tuesday March 1 morning, when the sweeper came to attend to his duties. Trilok was from Madhya Pradesh.
Trilok had a brilliant record, having secured high rank in his studies. He was pursuing postgraduate degree in mechatronics. He had joined the college last year. It is suspected that he committed suicide late night on Monday. As there are no plausible reasons here for this sudden decision, family problems are suspected to have driven him to take this extreme step.
The family members of the student are expected to arrive here today. His body has been kept in the mortuary. A case was registered in Suratkal police station.
