Kundapur: Stock of Khus Khus Grass Roots Gutted

Kundapur, Feb 28: In an incident that occurred at Karikatte Armi at Shirur near Byndoor in the taluk on Sunday February 27, khus khus grass roots, which are mainly used for preparing Ayurvedic remedies and also as flavouring agent for a number of items, were burnt down.

The roots were stored in a building owned by Karikatte Gopala Mesta, for being transported to Kerala later. The stock of roots in the building was estimated to be worth six lac rupees. Stock, roof and furniture totally worth around three lac rupees were reduced to ashes in the accidental fire.

Fire brigade from Bhatkal came and extinguished the flames.
