Mangalore, Feb 25: The state government, through an order, has transferred the investigation into all cases involving former underworld don, Madoor Isubu, to Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Madoor Isubu, allegedly involved with a number of communal murders and extortions, was arrested in Riyadh. He had later been arrested by the Karnataka police.
Allegedly, Isubu has confessed to his involvement with most of these crimes. The central intelligence agencies had warned that some fundamentalist organizations had been planning to eliminate Isubu, as they were angry at his confession, and Isubu too had approached the court for protection to his life. It is said that several leaders will go to jail for their involvement with some of these murders, if Isubu provides exhaustive details of crimes he is charged with. The state government has now transferred all his cases to CID.
Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Dr A Subrhamanyeshwar Rao, said that the cases are yet to be transferred to CID, although an order of transfer has been received by the district police.
It is learnt that three days ago, Isubu claimed to have vomitted blood. He was thereafter, admitted into Wenlock Hospital for treatment. The policemen said that no one had seen him vomitting blood, and that the doctors, after examining and conducting tests on him, had sent him back to the jail.
The policemen feel that Isubu wants to get admitted into Wenlock Hospital, to be able to interact with people loyal to him. The policemen are also concerned about the ongoing conspiracy to kill him, about which they have been warned. It is said that a criminal from Ullal has hatched a plan to kill Isubu, in a way that the onus for the killing goes to a police officer.
