Udupi, Feb 25: Alva’s College bagged first place in ‘Galactica – 2011’, the Mangalore varsity-level cultural, commerce, and information technology competitive event held under the aegis of SMS College, Brahmavar, on Thursday February 24.

Crossland College, Brahmavar, was the runners-up. Manipal Institute of Technology director Dr Kumkum Garg inaugurated the programme
on Thursday morning.

Brahmavar Sports Club president Madamakki Shashidar Shetty, Brahmavar OSC education institutions correspondent Fr Lawrence David Crasta, SMS College principal Professor K Narayanan, student union director Dr K B Shivatarak, student union leader Dhiraj K Shetty, secretary Arathi Shetty, as well as chief organizers Prasad Shetty and Franklyn were present on the occasion.

Brahmavar Little Rock School principal Professor Mathew C Ninan distributed the trophy here during the concluding ceremony held on Thursday evening.

Monisha welcomed the gathering while Sahil proposed the vote of thanks. Elita, Shivani, and Rehanuma compered the programme.
