Mangalore, Feb 25: Subrahmanya, Guttigar, Harihara, Kollamogru and surrounding places received good rains on Thursday February 24. The rain was coupled with lightning.
Good rain was experienced in the headquarters of Chikmagalur district, and several other places on Thursday February afternoon. A few places like Aldur also experienced hailstorm. The rains cooled the temperature. A tree got uprooted on a four-wheeler in Moodigere in the district, damaging the vehicle thoroughly. While the common people are feeling relieved of scorching heat, coffee and mango growers are worried about the likely affect of the rain on their yield.
Kushalnagar in Kodagu district too received good rains for three hours on Thursday evening. Rains were also experienced in Madikeri, Naopklu, Virajpet and Gonikoppal in the district.
