Sullia, Feb 24: A person named S Mohammed (60) from Pelatadka within Sampaje village on Mani-Mysore Road lost his life in a road accident that occurred on the night of Tuesday February 22.
Mohammed was returning after visiting a family of relatives in Vittal, upon receiving information about the death of a family member there. He had booked a Maruti Omni van owned by Yogish. When the vehicle was nearing his home during the return journey, a wild boar suddenly ran across the road. To avoid hitting it, Ibrahim, who was riding the van, turned the van to extreme right. The vehicle went out of the driver’s control as a result and fell on the road, and Mohammed suffered serious head injuries. He was immediately taken to the Sullia hospital. While shifting him to Mangalore for advanced treatment from Sullia, he breathed his last.
Driver, Ibrahim, son-in-law of Mohammed, G Mohammed, Khadeejamma, Bifatumma and Ayesha, who were travelling in the van, also sustained injuries.
