New Delhi, Feb 23: Delegation of Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress Committee met K H Muniappa, Minister of State for Railways at New Delhi and submitted the memorandum on various railway issues and facilities for Coastal Karnataka. The delegation insisted upon , having a separate railway division for this region, quartered at Mangalore. The delegation urged the Minister to declare the same in this forthcoming railway budget.
The memorandum included various demands like new train services from Karwar to Bangalore, Mangalore to Hawra, Hubli to Mangalore via Londa .Committee also requested the Minister to sanction Rapid Transit System, a circular train system from Kundapur to Mangalore , covering all important towns of Udupi and Mangalore districts. Immidiate construction of cache siding at Ghat Sections between Subramanya and Sakleshpur to facilitate more frequent train service in this sector was also demanded.
