Udupi, Feb 23: The journalists of the district lost themselves in running, competing with each other in sack race, hopping, throwing of shot-put, ball, javelin etc, instead of  their favourite pastime of running around to gather information and news, on Tuesday February 22. This scene was visible at the first sports tournament organized here by Udupi Working District Journalists Union.

The journalists were busy with sports activities all through Tuesday at Mahatma Gandi Stadium in Ajjarkad here, from morning to evening. They seemed to enjoy this refreshing change of routine. The tournament was initiated by district information officer, M Junjanna, and district youth services and sports officer, Seetanadi Vittal Shetty.

Syndicate Bank general manager, Santosh Kamath, Undivided District Fish Marketting Federation president, Yashpal Suvarna, District Working Journalists Union president, Gokuldas Pai, information officer, M Junjanna, secretary, Kiran Manjanabail, and sports coordinator, Balakrishna Shibarla, were present at the prize distribution function held in the evening.

On this occasion, Seetanadi Vittal Shetty was felicitated.

It seems to be a good fun. If the JOURNALISTS are free mind by participating such activities, we can expect good, not-biased, cool, clear, truth, real NEWS, which can maintain PEACE AND HARMONY in our society, nation.
