Mangalore: City Police Honour Civil Beat Members of Capitanio Locality

Mangalore, Feb 14: A felicitation programme of Kankanady rural police sub-inspector K Prakash and police interactive meet was held at Mahalingeshwar temple premises, Kankanady, here on Sunday February 13.


The felicitation programme was organized to celebrate the one-year completion of civil beat that has been operating in the neighbourhood of Mahalingeshwar temple.  The spate of rising cases of robberies in the neighbourhood was effectively curbed by both local youth and men on night vigil.
 
Mahalingeshwar temple managing trustee K Devendra presided over the programme.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Devendra said that the citizens cannot expect the police department in providing security at all times since the department is burdened with insufficient manpower.  The civil beat on night vigil to provide security to the residents of neighbourhood goes a long way in curbing petty crimes in the locality, he added.
 
Panambur ACP Puttamadayya was the chief guest of the programme.
 
Kankanady rural police sub-inspector K Prakash and local corporator Bhaskarchandra Shetty were the guests of honour.
 
The chief guest, Puttamadayya after inaugurating the programme said that civil beats are helping the police in curbing the rising spate of robberies and petty thefts in the locality.  It’s the duty of every individual to work towards social responsibility.

Puttamadayya felicitated all members of civil beat along with their mentor sub-inspector K Prakash.
 
Sub-inspector, Prakash said that it is for the first time that a civil beat has been operating in the neighbourhood to secure the residents from petty crimes.  Meanwhile, he assured full support for the civil beat, if in case any social evil forces curb their vigil.
 
B Prabhakar Sriyan, Shyamalal, Girish, Eshwar Bhat and Sudhakar among others were present on the dais.
 
Indian Air Force retired personnel Janardhan, Kratin Kumar and A M Shetty shared their civil beat experiences on the same occasion.
 
Rajani led the prayers.  Jayalaxmi, Shobha Aithal, Pushpa Techer, Veena Pawar and Shashi sang the welcome song.  Kallur Nagesh welcomed the gathering.  B Prabhakar Sriyan delivered the introductory address.  Gopal M proposed vote of thanks.  U S Rao compered the programme.

    I appriciate our young boys what they done thats really great job in future also not only one place every place we have youngsters they can do this job they can save there village and city like this they can improve there places also at last dont fight togher also dont break your friend cricle please countine this
