Bengaluru, Apr 23: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has promised a thorough probe into the audio recording released by Congress leader Priyank Kharge regarding the alleged conversation among the perpetrators of the scam pertaining to recruitment of Police Sub Inspectors.
Speaking to media persons near his residence on Saturday, the Chief Minister said all aspects and angle in the PSI scam will be probed and whoever is involved in the alleged scam will be severely punished as per law based on the investigation.
“I have personally not heard the audio clipping released by Congress MLA Priyank Kharge. But I assure you that all aspects will be probed. The persons involved the audio tape will be identified,’’ Bommai said.
The Chief Minister said he has no information on the threatening e-mails including bomb threats received by schools 15 days back which are said to be form Syria and Pakistan.
“I will speak to the Police Commissioner and ask the police to probe the matter thoroughly,’’ he said pointing that such attempts were reported frequently.
Bommai said the police will investigate the origin of the emails as also the country of origin. “In a few similar cases, information pertaining to such incidents in the past have been shared with the countries concerned and some persons have been arrested,’’ he said declining to share more details.
