Udupi, Apr 19: Seers of coastal Karnataka Maths have expressed their resentment at the statement of Lingayat Sree Dingaleshwara that 30% commission is demanded by BJP government ministers in the grant that is given to Maths.
Responding to the Lingayat Sree statement, Vajradehi Rajashekharananda Swamiji said, “This is an unnecessary accusation. The accusation made by Dingaleshwara Sree is blatant lie. Our Math has also received around Rs 50 lac grant from the government. Similarly, other Maths in the vicinity have also received grant. We have not given even a single rupee as commission to any government officials. It is not right to fire in the air. Proper documentary evidence needs to be provided.”
Giving his reaction on the accusation of Lingayat seer Dingaleshwara Sree, Palimar Math Swamiji Sri Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha said, “In our country, the income generated by the temples is negligible. Almost nil. It is natural to give the wealth accumulated through some rich temples to other temples which are financially not so strong. In the previous governments time it was going somewhere else. The present government takes care to see that the revenue generated by the temples is utilized for their welfare. This is appreciable.
“In hundreds of scheme of this nature, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa as well as the present BJP government has given lots of financial help to Maths of coastal region. Yediyurappa also had announced financial help to Palimar Math. But when that money was transferred, no one asked for any benefit. Ministers and MLAs did not show any selfishness while giving the grant to the coastal maths. In fact, MLAs and Muzrai ministers have helped us when we faced issues in getting the grant. The MLAs and ministers are utilizing these funds honestly.
“They are giving financial help to temples when the concerned temples are facing hardship. While giving aid there is no opportunity for bribe or commission. I would like to say this with pride.
“Someone is voicing some dissent in this matter. Probably it might not be his voice. The public should identify the honest service and pay attention. No one should meddle in this kind of work. Governments of this kind should be encouraged. It is very difficult to take everyone along. This is commendable. There is definitely no opportunity for any kind of speck,” he said.
