Mangaluru, Apr 14: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V instructed concerned officials to make all necessary preparations to conduct second PU examinations in the district without any hiccups.
In a video conference meeting that was held from the office of the DC, Dr Rajendra directed the officials with necessary measures to be adopted.
In the district of Dakshina Kannada there are 51 examination centres comprising of 12 government, 23 aided and 16 unaided colleges. As many as 14 route officers are nominated. In total, 31,308 students are going to write the examination, out of which 15,652 are boys and 15,656 are girls. Arts sections has 4,329 students, while commerce and science has 14,987 and 11,992 students respectively. This information was shared by Jayanna, deputy director of PU education board.

The DC said that all examination centres will be sanitized and the heads of centres are already instructed about the rules to be followed. Section 144 will be imposed around the examination centres. He also asked the tahsildars to be in continuous touch with the deputy director of PU board and discuss issues with heads of examination centres. Local police are instructed to provide security to the examination centres.
Officials of various departments, tahsildars and heads of examination centres were present.
The examinations will be held between April 22 and May 18.
