Udupi, Apr 11: “During the regime of Siddaramaiah, murders of several Hindu workers took place. They have withdrawn the cases against those who murdered the Hindu w0rkers. Did Siddaramaiah lose his mental balance then," Basavaraj Bommai said responding to the statement of opposition leader Siddaramaiah that the chief minister had lost his power to speak.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, April 11, the CM said, “Let anyone analyse the present happenings in the state. We give priority to law and order as per the Constitution of India. All are equal in the eyes of the law. We are working under this principle. We do not object to anyone propagating their ideology. But no one should take law into their hands. Government will not tolerate violence."
He reiterated that already a clear message had been sent across to everyone. "The high court has pronounced its verdict on the Hijab issue. The order of the court will be followed,” he said.
Answering query on forming task force at Mangaluru to curb Love Jihad, Bommai said, “Those who want to protect themselves, they will do so. But there is a law for everything. So many incidents have occurred. For all law is there. Some laws were passed by the previous government. We have not formed any new rules. We are following the rules made by the previous governments.”
Speaking on the present developments in the state, Bommai said, “We do not speak. Our actions speak for us. We should not speak, our work should speak for us. We need not learn anything from the opposition parties. We know what decision and action should be taken in a given situation."“Many cases of murders were withdrawn. Organizations and people who were tainted were left scot free at their level. The previous government has dropped cases on many people", he alleged.
“Where was your sense of duty when you were in power? There is nothing we have to learn from you people. We know the progress of our state. We know how to maintain law and order. We are working. We are showing what we have done.”
Siddaramaiah is right in criticizing govt as opposition leader: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary
“Araga Jnanendra is an able home minister. He is conducting administration with dedication and ensuring peace and harmony in the state. The CM and home minister are responsible for the happenings in the state now. It is right on the part of Siddaramaiah to criticize the government periodically as he is the leader of opposition,” said Minster Kota Srinivas Poojary.
Responding to a query about why the CM was quiet on the criticism by Siddaramaiah, Poojary said, “Opposition had criticized the government on various matters in the legislative assembly two days ago. But CM Bommai has given an able answer. Arguments and explosive words are not the answer for any problem. Issues need to be resolved by giving able administration under arguments based on reality."
“CM Bommai is ruling the state in a very apt manner. I am confident that the people of Karnataka are happy and at peace. There is no need to answer all questions. There is no answer to the cheap words of senior political leaders. According to me, Siddaramaiah is a tall leader when it comes to politics. There is meaning in his talk. For some of his questions, silence is the answer.”
Speaking on BJP MLA Yatnal’s outburst on his own party, Poojary said, “Yatnal has criticized the party several times. After some days, he only answers his own questions."
“High court has already pronounced its verdict on the Hijab controversy. If Congress has any objection to the verdict, they can approach the Supreme Court. In democratic system, one can question the verdict of the high court in the Supreme Court. On the contrary, it is not right to oppose the verdict of the high court. He should verify his words once again.”
