Moodbidri, Feb 2: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a two-wheeler on national highway in the town, on the night of Monday January 31. The victim has been identified as Prabhakar Devadiga (55).

Devadiga was walking on national highway 13 towards the town from his home near Swaraj Maidan here at around 9 pm, when a Kinetic Activa two-wheeler ran him over. He sustained grave injuries in the accident, and was shifted to a hospital in Mangalore. He breathed his last shortly thereafter, at around midnight.

Sridhar from Muchchoor, who was riding the two-wheeler, was also injured in the accident, as he was thrown to the road due to the impact. He is being treated in a private hospital in the city.

Prabhakar, who was working as a driver for private buses, had later joined Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation. After working there for a few years, he had opted for voluntary retirement. He was unmarried.
