Puttur: Prof Udaya K appointed vice-principal of St Philomena College

Puttur, Apr 2: The Catholic Board of Education (CBE) of Mangalore diocese appointed professor Udaya K, head of the department of Mathematics and the dean of Sciences, as the vice-principal of St Philomena College, Puttur. In place of professor Dinakara Rao, who superannuated, the management appointed the new vice principal.

Professor Udaya K, the post graduate in Mathematics and also MPhil from Mangalore University, began his teaching career in Milagres College, Kalyanpura, and then transferred to St Philomena College in 2002.

In 36 years of an illustrious career, professor Udaya successfully carried out various posts of responsibilities entrusted in the College and offered from university. He was a member of the Board of Studies (BOS) and BOE in Mathematics of Mangalore University as well as various Autonomous institutions affiliated to Mangalore University. He served as the director of Science Association, student welfare officer. In the second cycle of NAAC accreditation, he was IQAC coordinator and the College accredited with A grade.

Jerome Lawrence Mascarenhas, the correspondent, and Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the principal of the College, congratulated and wished success to professor Udaya K for his appointment as the vice-principal of the College.
