Mangalore, Jan 26: Ten Chevrolet cars and thirty pulsar bikes have been procured for Mangalore city police Commisionerate and they were handed over to the police on Wednesday January 26 . The programme was inaugurated by district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar.
These cars will function in case of any emergencies in city under police control room. Ten cars will be stationed at different locations. ASI or Head Constable, two constables and a driver will accompany each car.
The vehicles will rush to the spot in case of any untoward incidents. The vehicle will extend the preliminary help to the victims. They will see that evidence is not damaged on the spot which is useful during police investigation. Later the police officers will take the situation under control. In case of emergencies more number of PCR vehicles will be provided to cope up with the situation.
These vehicles have been fixed with GPS and modern wireless equipments, all the staff members will be trained about the usage.
The officers in charge will be armed with a revolver and other weapons. These vehicles are also responsible for moving persons injured in accidents to hospitals. They can move persons injured in accidents, riots, natural disasters or crimes immediately to hospitals.
