Beltangady, Jan 21: President of the executive committee of Kajoor Rahmaniya Jumma Masjid, Sheikhabba, claimed that the state High Court (HC) has stayed the order of Karnataka State Wakf Board, dissolving the executive committee of the mosque, and appointing an administrative officer in its place,to manage the affairs of the mosque. He was addressing a press conference held here on Thursday January 20.
President of Killur mosque, Qasim Malligemane, and former secretary of Kajoor Jamaath, Abubakker Siddique, had complained to the Wakf Board, alleging that the executive committees of Kajoor mosque and Dargah had indulged in irregularities. On the basis of these complaints, the Board had dissolved the committee and appointed an administrative officer.
Questioning this move, both the committees had moved the HC through writ petitions. The HC, after hearing both the sides, stayed the appointment of the administrative officer, Sheikhabba said.
General secretary of the committee, Yousuf Shariff, joint secretary, K V Abubakker, K M Ibrahim, and K K Muhammed, were present at the press conference.
