Udupi: Alva’s College, Davala College Triumph at MSRS Memorial Volleyball Tourney

Udupi, Jan 21: The  team of Alva’s College, Moodbidri, bagged first place in the men’s category of Mangalore varsity Mulky Sunder Ram Shetty (MSRS) Memorial Volleyball Tournament held at MSRS College Grounds, Shirva, near here, on Tuesday January 19. The women’s team of Davala College, Moodbidri, bagged the first place in the women’s category.

The men’s team of University Campus College, Mangalagangotri, and women’s team of MSRS College, bagged the second places in their respective categories.

Avinash of Alva’s College team was adjudged best player in men’s volleyball tourney while Surekha of Davala College team was adjudged best player in women’s category.
 
Shirva sub-inspector K R Nayak and Naveen Motors proprietor Stanley Dias were the chief guests at the valedictory ceremony and presented prizes to the winners.
 
Hindu Pre-University College principal S V Ganapati Bhat and sports director Surendra Shetty H were present. MSRS College principal Professor Y Bhaskar Shetty presided over the programme.
 
Kannada lecturer Raghuram Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.  Sandeep Shetty compered the programme.
