Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jan 21: The Congress and JDS members elected for Bangalore rural zilla panchayat in the recently held elections are on a pilgrimage. Their leaders have arranged for the tour of holy places for them, fearing that the BJP may launch Operation Kamala and net a couple of them.

The group, which began pilgrimage from Bangalore a few days back, reached Mangalore on Thursday January 20. It is learnt that the group will visit Udupi before leaving for Karwar from there, today.

In Bangalore zilla panchayat, BJP has won 16 seats. Congress has 14 members, and JDS, 4. BJP is in dire need of the support of two members, and the opposition parties are apprehensive that it may go to any extend to conjure up the numbers required.
