Mangalore, Jan 17: P A College of Engineering, Mangalore organized an intercollegiate quiz competition for PUC/PDC students of coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at its campus, here on Saturday, January15.
Jayan Philip, a renowned quizmaster in India and abroad was the quiz master. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from 130 teams consisting of 260 students from various colleges spread across the coastal regions of Karnataka and Kerala.
Ronnel M Pinto and Harsha C Alva from St Aloysius Pre University College Mangalore won the first prize, Pranav Karanth and Anirudha Mirmira from Sharada PU College Mangalore won the second prize and Aashrava Holla and Varun K from S M S P U College Brahmavar was awarded with the third prize.
Dr P A Ibrahim, chairman and managing trustee, P A Educational Trust distributed the cash prize, gold coins and trophies to the winners. In his message he requested the students to become globally competitive and socially committed. He congratulated the participants and teachers. He expressed his gratitude towards principals of all the colleges who sent their students for the competition.
K M Haneef, director (administration) and Dr Abdulla Sharief, principal (in-charge) were present on the occasion. M Iqbal registrar was the chief co-ordinator of the programme.
