Mangalore, Jan 10: Sonali Mallya, a third year BBM student of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College in the city, has been picked to become one of a hundred talented students from the country over, to watch the Republic Day parade in New Delhi from VVIP stand this year. Sonali has been picked for this rare honour because of her feat in both academic and extra curricular activities.
Sonali, daughter of city-based engineer, Suresh Mallya and Sneha Mallya from Kadri, has been invited by the union ministry for youth services and sports, for the event. She will stay at Hotel Janpath on January 25, and watch the Republic Parade the next day at 6.30 am. The celebrations will continue till January 28, and she will have occasion to rub shoulders with top level dignitaries of the country.
Sonali is active in all fields, and television viewing is one of her favourite pastimes. Reading, experimenting with cooking, social networking, hearing radio fm, reading of books etc., are some of her activities. She is very good in studies, and has won several awards in debates and other contests. In the national festival, ‘Samskriti’ organized at SDM Law College recently, she had won the ‘Best Advocate’ award.
