Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jan 10: The body of an unidentified person was found lying at the seashore in Casba Bengre here on Sunday January 9. The person was found to have been murdered by slitting his throat.

The man appeared to be a labourer of north Karnataka origin. A grey tea shirt and jeans were found to have been worn by him. A pendant with an amulet bearing the idol of Lord Dattatreya engraved on stainless steel, was found hanging from his neck. Two pairs of footwear, beer bottles, and pieces of chicken were found scattered near the spot. It appears that he was killed after a drunken brawl with friends.

The policemen from Pabnambur station, under whose jurisdiction the area falls, suspect that two persons, who were found loitering in the area earlier in the day, might have committed the murder. They have formed a special team to investigate this case.
