Kasargod, Mar 1: In a shocking incident reported from near Mangad within the limits of Melparamba police station, a student who had left to take part in a festival was found to have fallen down along with his motorbike and died.
The boy who was killed in the incident was Vijesh (20) from Mulleria Periadka. On Sunday February 27 night, he had left home along with some friends, to take part in the festival at Trikkanad. On Monday morning, his family members came to know that Vijesh could not be contacted and had gone missing. They complained to Adoor police station. The police registered a case and began an investigation.
When they called his mobile phone, there was no response. They grew suspicious and tried to find him on the basis of mobile tower location. In the meantime, late at night on Monday, his motorbike was found to have tumbled down by the roadside and got deposited into a pit on the road bend at Mangad Kulikunnu. The mortal remains of Vijesh were also found nearby.
After they were informed about this, Melparamba station personnel went to the spot and undertook scrutiny. On Tuesday morning, an inquest was conducted. The police believe that the student would have lost control over his motorbike after which the vehicle would have plunged into the pit.
Vijesh, it is learnt, was a photography student.
