Karkala: IC – CANA 2011 - Int'l Conference at NMAMIT, Nitte from Jan 7

Udupi, Jan 6: NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte will hold an International Level Conference on “Computer Architecture, Networking and Applications” (IC-CANA 2011) on Friday January 7 and Saturday January 8 in association with Penn State University, Harrisburg USA. The conference is co-sponsored by Nitte University, Nitte Education Trust, ISTE, NewDelhi. CSI Division-V (E&R), VTU Belgaum, TCS, EMC, Veriguide and Robosoft Technologies. The IEEE Students’ chapter of NMAMIT is the organizing partner of the conference.

On Friday, there will be 3 parallel day long tutorial sessions on the theme of the conference, by resource person’s drawn from Academia and Industry. The conference will be inaugurated in the evening by Prof Omid Ansary, associate dean of Penn State University, Harrisburg, USA.

Prof N R Shetty, president ISTE and Prof Swarnalatha Rao, chairperson of CSI Division V (E&R) will be the guests of honour. N Vinay Hegde, chancellor of Nitte University and president of Nitte Education Trust will preside.

In all 24 selected technical papers will be presented during the conference on Saturday. There will be a panel discussion on the topic “Relevance of Industry Institute Interaction in the Global Education Scenario” during the conference. Prof Aldo Morales, professor of Electrical Engineering at Penn State University, Harrisburg, USA will be the guest of honour during the valedictory programme and Prof Kumkum Garg, Ddrector of MIT, Manipal will be the chief guest.

About 250 delegates are expected to participate in the conference, informed Dr S Y Kulkarni, principal of the Institute. The conference is conducted as a part of “Silver Jubilee” celebration, of the college.
