CSA announces dates for Test and ODI series against Bangladesh


Johannesburg, Feb 9 (IANS): Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday announced the dates and venues for the team's home Test and One-day International series against Bangladesh, beginning with the D/N ODI at the SuperSport Park, Centurion on March 18.

SuperSport Park will host the third ODI as well on March 23, while the second ODI will be played at the Imperial Wanderers in Johannesburg on March 20.

The coastal cities of Durban (Hollywoodbets Kingsmead) and Gqeberha (St. George's Park Cricket Ground) will play host to the Tests.

The tour is of great significance for the hosts, as both the series count for vital points in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League and the ICC World Test Championship.

South Africa are on a high after defeating India 2-1 in the Test series and making a clean sweep of the three-match ODI series against the tourists.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, scored their maiden Test win against the Blackcaps in New Zealand, before the hosts came back strongly in the second Test to level the two-match series 1-1.

The updated fixtures are as follows:

ODI Series: March 18 SuperSport Park, Centurion; March 20 Imperial Wanderers, Johannesburg; March 23 SuperSport Park.

Test series: March 31-April 4 Hollywoodbets Kingsmead, Durban; April 8-12 St. George's Park Cricket Ground, Gqeberha.
