Mangalore, Dec 24: Dr M Veerappa Moily, union law minister, has been chosen for the ‘MMA Outstanding Manager Award’ being conferred on those who exhibit exemplary managerial skills. This was stated by Mangalore Management Association (MMA) president, M Shekhar Poojary, at a press conference held here on Thursday December 23.
He also informed that this award will be handed over to Moily at the award function being held at the auditorium of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Business Management in the city at 6 pm on Tuesday December 28. The award will be handed over by Indian Overseas Bank chairman and managing director, M Narendra. Managing director of Century Group of Concerns, Bangalore, P Dayanand Pai, will participate as chief guest, he explained.
This award is being given, considering the individual progress, exploration in their respective fields of work, administrative excellence, quality of leadership, contribution to the society, social status, moral values, excellent communication capability, seniority, etc of the individual concerned. In the past, this award had been given to Dr D Veerendra Heggade, K K Pai, Dr Ramadas Pai, and Dr M V Kamath, he explained.
Immediate-past president of the association, Dr Devaraj, vice president, T G Shenoy, secretary, U Rama Rao, and joint secretary, P Ravindra Rao, were present at the press conference.
