Bengaluru, Jan 29: C M Ibrahim who is on the verge of stepping out of the Congress, having been miffed by the party's decision not to offer him the post of the leader of the opposition in the legislative council, met former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, and discussed his future course of action. The meeting took place in the residence of Ibrahim in the city on Friday January 28.
Speaking after meeting Ibrahim, Kumaraswamy said that Ibrahim, who was hurt, recalled certain incidents which happened in the past. He said that Ibrahim will make a decision that fits him soon. He recalled that Ibrahim had connections with Deve Gowda since 1972, even before Siddaramaiah came in contact with Deve Gowda. He said that Siddaramaiah has not allowed anyone whom he took with him into the Congress, to grow there.
Ibrahim said that he was forced to take a decision as the Congressmen told him that he was not needed. He added that he has told Kumaraswamy that he would be taking a suitable decision within two weeks.
MLA Rizwan Harshad asked Ibrahim not to leave the party for not being offered the said post. He asked them not to fight for power but for principles.
Siddaramaiah said that Ibrahim would have talked of leaving the Congress in an angry mood, and expressed his desire to meet and discuss all issues with Ibrahim. He said he believes that Ibrahim will not join the JD(S). Congress leader S A Hussain, said that he and other friends were taken aback by Ibrahim's decision and asked him to review his decision.
