Mangaluru, Jan 25: The district administration has issued an order extending Covid restrictions till 5 am on January 31, duly taking note of the spread of the infection.
The weekend curfew imposed all over the district has been withdrawn but as per the guidelines which are applicable on all the days, night curfew will be in place all over the district from 10 pm to 5 am. Other restrictions have also been continued.
The people have to compulsorily follow Covid appropriate behaviour as per the guidelines issued by the state government. Marriages are permitted with 200 people in outdoors and 100 indoors, pubs, clubs, restaurants, bars and hotels and other eateries can allow only those who have been vaccinated with two doses with the condition that occupancy is restricted to 50 percent of the capacity.
All kinds of rallies, dharnas, meetings, community and labour observations, political protests, social, religious, political programmes where processions are also held, have been strictly banned.
At the check posts set up on the border Dakshina Kannada district shares with Kerala, close watch and checks have to be conducted. Officials who fail to take any action against people violating the Covid restrictions and those failing to properly implement the government guidelines will face suitable legal action, the deputy commissioner said in his order.
