Mangaluru Jan 24: District Youth JD(S) led by its president Akshith Suvarna took out a vehicle rally from clock tower to Kudroli temple to create awareness on Brahmashree Narayana Guru here on Monday January 24.

MLC B M Farooq flagged off the rally. JD(S) leaders Iqbal Mulky, Rasheed Bantwal, Ratheesh Karkera, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Faisal, Likith Raj, Sumeeth Suvarna, Women JD(S) district president Sumathi Hegde and others were present.

The rally took place on the wake of the central government rejecting Narayana Guru tableau in the Republic Day parade. Several organizations and political parties criticized the move made by the central government terming it as an insult to Narayana Guru and also demanded to consider Narayana Guru tableau in the parade.

Recently, Akshith Suvarna had requested the prime minister through the deputy commissioner to reconsider the decision.

“It is an insult to the exploited and society at large. Narayana Guru should be honoured by providing an opportunity for his tableau,” urged Akshith Suvarna.
