Kundapur, Dec 14: Ganesh Shettigar (27) from Gopady village in the taluk, who was crushed under a tanker at Koteshwar near here on Monday December 13, died later in a hospital.
Shettigar, who had watched Yakshagana performance in Kundapur on Sunday night, had slept under a tanker parked by the roadside, in the early hours on Monday. He perhaps, had planned to go home after daybreak, once buses start plying.
The tanker driver, without noticing that a person was sleeping beneath, drove away the tanker, severely injuring Ganesh in the process. Ganesh was rushed to Manipal Hospital immediately, but did not respond to treatments.
