Mangalore, Dec 9: Skandasri Seva Samithi has organized Subrahmanya Shasthi Mahotsava at Kandavara Vasuki Subrahmanya Temple here on Saturday December 11. Devotees are streaming in seek the blessings of serpent lord.
The age-old temple is located within limits of Mangalore International Airport, Bajpe and lies just
18 km away from Mangalore and 3 kma away from airport. Surrounded by the scenic beauty of mother nature, the temple is the eternal abode for the ardent devotees.
Lord Subrahmanya along with Nagaraja Vasuki is omnipotent in this sacred sanctum. Apart from this, the family devataas like Rakteshwari Amma, Vasuki Nagabrahma, Mahaganapathi, Kumara Abbaga Darage,
Nandigona and Bhairava-Varahi are also being offered pujas since ages by the family members of Kandavara Patel Antha Alva.
Eversince the Alva family forefathers’ were blessed by “Santhaanabhagya”, time and again Brahmakalasha-Nagamandala, Sankranthi Seva, Nagapanchami, Shashti Utsav and annual festivals have
been the regular rituals at this sacred place.
Sarpashanthi, Sarpasamskara, Ashlesha Pooja, Mangalyabhagya, Santaanabhagya, Durga Namaskara Pooja, Rangapooja, Sandhishanthi homa and Samastha Nagadosha nivarana poojas are being performed regularly as per devotees wishes.
Once their wishes are fulfilled the devotees visit this place and surrender at the feet of Lord Vasuki Subrahmanya and other devatas with their kind offerings.
Kandavara Vasuki Subrahmanya Temple is just six kilometres away from Polali and 11 kilometres from Kateel. You have to get down at Kaikamba and travel by autorickshaw or any other convenient mode of transport, to reach the temple.
