Mangalore, Nov 20: Two leaders from Dakshina Kannada district have lost their positions because of the revamping of the corporations and boards by the state government. Ramachandar Bykampady, chairman of Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation, has lost his position. In his place, district vice president, Nitin Kumar, has been appointed. Likewise, Kuntikan Lakshman Gowda, chairman of Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation, has been shown the door.
Amritkumar Boloor from Mangalore, who was the president of Balbhavan Society, has been replaced with Sulochana Bhat from Bantwal, who is the state unit vice president of BJP.
S Angara, who was chosen as MLA for the fourth time from Sullia in 2008, was hoping to get ministerial berth. He has been made the chairman of Dr Babu Jagjivanram Leather Industries Development Corporation.
From Udupi district, B N Shnakar Poojary, who deserted the Congress after being denied a ticket for assembly and Lok Sabha elections, and joined the BJP two years ago, has been made the chairman of Karnataka State Agricultural Produce Processing and Export Corporation.
MLA, Yogish Bhat, former minister, B Nagaraj Shetty and S N Manmatha from Sullia, continue to be the chairmen of the respective corporations they are already heading. Abubakker from Suratkal (Minority Development Corporation) and MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik (deputy chairman, NRI Forum) also continue to hold their respective positions.
