Bangalore: IGNOU Tagore Chair to Be Launched on Nov 20

Bangalore, Nov 18: The Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU) Tagore Chair for Indian Literature will be inaugurated in Bangalore on Saturday November 20.

Addressing presspersons, U R Ananthamurthy, IGNOU's Tagore professor for Indian literature, said he was planning to start a visual cultural course, which aims at teaching how to understand a movie and review it. “The proposal in the initial phase plans to show a series of movies and invite filmmakers to interact with those who pursue the course,” he added.

He said a poet's meet in which 16 poets of Hindi, English, Marathi, Lambani, Beary, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Urdu, Konkani, Kodava, Malayalam, Manipuri, Telugu, Tulu and Maithili will participate, will be held.
