Moodbidri: National Library Week Inaugurated

Moodbidri, Nov 18: All the book lovers of the town gathered for the celebration of National Library Week at Central Library here on Thursday November 18.

The programme began with elocution competition for the children of all the schools around the town. The role of library in education was the topi for the Kannada elocution contest. Goverdhan Hosamani, Rajaram Nagarkatte, B Mohandad Shetty were the jurors.

Ratnakar Devadiga inaugurated the programme. Hotelier and Municipal councillor Manoj Shetty presided. Venkatesh Kini, former chief engineer and Nalini, chief librarian, Mahaveera College were the chief guest.

Chief librarian, Moodbidri Prathima hosted the programme. All panchayat librarians around the town were present.

A book exhibition was arranged at the venue.

The programme was jointly organized by the Library Awareness Group and Central Library.
