Mangaluru/Udupi, Nov 29: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, November 29, reported 11 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 7 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 22,40,213 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,24,351 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,862 out of which 136 are currently active.
As many as 11 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,694.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,83,270 as fine in 88,883 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,65,804 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 7 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 76,878 out of which 57 are currently active.
A total of 5 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday. Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,32,619 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 6,85,087 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
