Bengaluru, Nov 27: With several countries, especially South Africa, Botswana, Hong Kong, Israel, Belgium, Denmark etc., going through tough times with cases of new Covid variant being detected, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday held a special review meeting through video conference with several district Deputy Commissioners and senior officials.
The Deputy Commissioners of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, Dharwad and Bengaluru Urban as well as the Chief Commissioner and Administrator of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike were involved in the video conference held from the Chief Minister’s Home Office of Krishna.
Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Vandita Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad, Revenue Department Principal Secretary Tushar Girinath, Health Department Secretary T K Anil Kumar and Commissioner Randeep as well as other senior officials attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister held a meeting earlier in the morning on the pending files and directed Chief Secretary P Ravikumar to take steps to clear the pending files in all departments. The opinion of the Law Minister will also be obtained to solve any legal or technical hurdles in clearing files, some of which have been pending since the last two years.
Later, he participated in the Kannada Rajyothsava Programme organised by Sapna Book House and releasing 66 Kannada books.
Kannada writer Kamala Hampana, H S Venkateshamurthy, Doddarangegowda and Sapna Book House chief Nitin Shah and journalist Ravi Hegde were present.
Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Corporation handed over a cheque for Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund by its Chairman Rudresh and Backward Classes Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary.
