Gadag: Sriramulu Supporters Turn Violent to Oppose Transfer

Gadag, November 15 (DHNS): Supporters of Sriramulu turned violent on Monday as they went on a rampage torching shops and pelting stones opposing his new appointment as district-in-charge Minister of Raichur. In the recent reshuffle of district-in charge ministers, CM Yeddyurappa moved Sriramulu from Gadag to Raichur.

The shuffle has also not gone down well with several colleagues of CM Yeddyurappa. Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy expressed his serious displeasure last week over changing Sriramulu as Gadag district incharge minister.

Speaking to reporters at Bellary he had said, the chief minister should have discussed the issue with the minister before taking a decision. Reddy said he failed to understand the logic behind the move when Sriramulu was doing a good job as incharge minister in Gadag. He said, Yeddyurappa, who was in Bellary on Friday did not even utter a word on the changing of district incharge minister.
