Bantwal: Illegal Cattle Trafficking – Two Held

Bantwal, Nov 15: In an operation that was conducted late night on Saturday November 13, the policemen of Bantwal station took into possession eight heads of cattle and a vehicle in which they were being illegally transported. Two persons were also taken into custody in this connection, and a case registered against them.

The arrested men have been identified as Hamid (40) from Pavoor Mular, and Ashraf (19) from Boliyar Panala. Both of them were produced in the local court on Sunday. The vehicle had earlier been intercepted by activists of some Hindu organizations, who conveyed the information to the policemen. The policemen said, the vehicle was in an inhuman way, loaded with a shebuffalo, five calves, and two cows.

The cattle were reportedly being taken to Mangalore from Beltangady taluk.
